The diversity that represents Lone Fir Cemetery speaks to people with divergent interests. Some are drawn to the beautiful, historical headstones and others to the pioneer rose garden or the soldier’s monument contained there. A few people focused on a task can make a world of difference, caring for a small part of the place. Our new program "Adopt a Block" seeks to connect people to the cemetary in a very personal way. Opportunities are waiting … Lone Fir Cemetery is now on the National Register of Historic Places and deserves to look its best.  Come do your bit for the cause and make your community a better place.  Contact us at (503) 224-9200.

Tell Us Your Story

One of Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery’s most important endeavors is keeping the stories of Lone Fir residents alive. Through stories told at historic tours and events, visitors feel a stronger connection to this treasured natural area.  The true stories of people buried at Lone Fir provide children with a deeper understanding of history.

Almost every time a tour is given, visitors share new information or stories about Lone Fir residents. Descendants and loved ones often contact Friends of Lone Fir with family tree history, dates and photos that add to the extensive amount of historical information that is collected and preserved.

If you have any information to share about Lone Fir Cemetery and its residents, please call (503) 224-9200 or email info@friendsoflonefircemetery.org
