We’ve started receiving questions about tickets and volunteer opportunities for Tour of Untimely Departures, so we wanted to share an update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery will not be conducting Tour of Untimely Departures. While many have come to love this event, it has never been intended as an annual program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Instead, we will be offering a more intimate guided tour on Halloween at Dusk. While it won’t be the large-scale theatrical experience of Tour of Untimely Departures, it will still provide an opportunity to experience Lone Fir Cemetery and its history at one of the most memorable times of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As our organization has grown, we’ve found that the size, planning, and volunteer commitment required for Tour of Untimely Departures make it too ambitious to produce every year. Moving forward, you can expect the full-scale event to return approximately every 2\u20133 years, with a smaller scale tour offered in the years between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We’re grateful for the enthusiasm and support this event has received over the years, and we look forward to sharing more details about this year’s Halloween tour in the coming months. Thank you to everyone who has reached out about volunteering and attending\u2014we can’t wait to welcome you back to Lone Fir this Halloween.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
